Kevin Garnett left Boston Celtics' game at Detroit with a right leg injury

Garnett grimaced as he threw down a dunk late in the first quarter, then immediately started limping when he landed, favoring his right leg. He made it back to midcourt before intentionally committing a foul to stop the game.

He was able to hobble off the court but was limping badly by the time he got back to the locker room. He was taken for X-rays and is not expected to return to the game.

The X-rays were negative for fractures. According to the team, he will wait until Thursday to undergo an MRI back in Boston to check for ligament damage.

Manny Pacquiao demolishes Antonio Margarito; wins 8th world crown

Manny Pacquiao proved beyond a doubt Saturday night what most people believed coming into his super welterweight championship fight against Antonio Margarito – that size doesn't matter as much as speed and quickness. And heart.

Pacquiao, 17 pounds lighter than Margarito at the opening bell, had too much of everything for Margarito and won going away at Cowboys Stadium before a raucous crowd of 41,734 and extended his record to world championships in eight different weight divisions. Nobody else has more than six.

Pacquiao (59-3, 39 KOs) put on a boxing clinic, dominating the fight from start to finish, landing combinations at will as Margarito could not protect his face. By the end of the fight, Margarito's face was a bloody, swollen pulp. But he never gave up.

"I was looking for a chance to stop the fight in the 10th round," said Pacquiao. "But Margarito kept fighting back."

In the 11th round, Pacquiao said he asked the referee to stop the fight. "My opponent looked bad, I wanted him to stop it," Pacquiao said. " I said, 'look at his face. ' I didn't want to damage him permanently. That's not what boxing's all about."

Margarito (38-7, 27 KOs) said he kept on fighting because "I'm a Mexican and there's no way I was going to quit. I fight until the end."

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, said he thought Pacquiao won all 12 rounds. "I wished we'd knocked him out, but he's a very tough guy," Roach said.

Pacquiao won all 12 rounds on one judge's scorecard, 11 of 12 on another and 10 of 12 on the third card. He threw 1,069 punches and landed 474 (44%), good for eighth all time in title fights.

Margarito connected on 229 of 817 (28%).

Pacquiao's edge in power punches was hard to overcome. He landed 411 of 713 (58%), while Margarito hit on 135 of 312 (43%).

Margarito drained at 150

DALLAS – Buboy Fernandez said he saw everything he wanted to see during Friday’s official weigh-in.

And that includes an Antonio Margarito who struggled to make the agreed catchweight of 150 lb for Saturday’s title fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Fernandez, the only Filipino in Pacquiao’s corner during fights, was just a couple of feet away as Margarito took off his black Dolce and Gabbana outfit and tipped the scales at 150 flat.

He said Margarito must have starved himself to death as the former welterweight champion appeared to be trembling.

Roach now 100% confident of Pacquiao win

There are no doubts now for four-time Trainer of the Year Freddie Roach that his prized fighter, Manny Pacquiao, will overcome Antonio Margarito of Mexico on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Although Roach has predicted that Pacquiao will prevail over his Mexican foe in “The Event,” the American trainer has also expressed worry that the Filipino boxer-congressman was being distracted by politics during his training camp.

After our stint here following Manny’s so-so performance in Manila and Baguio confirmed my earlier belief that he is still the same man I used to know, the best boxer in the world,” Roach said in a report by Eddie Alinea.

Roach was also pleased that the 7-division world champion was able to regain his focus.

The capsule, which is being tested again with no one inside, faces a twisty ride, according to Rory Carroll and Jonathan Franklin.

On its journey to the surface, the capsule will have to twist up to a dozen times through curves of 28-inch (78cm) diameter.Video inspections showed the shaft's lower walls to be firm, smooth rock, eliminating the need to line them, which would have taken days and risked blockages.

2.31am:(10.31pm Chile)
What's the hold up? Various theories are being put forward. Sasa Petricic a journalist with CBC TV tweets that there's a "minor problem" with the winch.

El Pais says the door of the capsule has been damaged.

The engineers have got the socket set out to make more adjustments to the capsule. A rescue worker was supposed to go down in the next test run. But it lowered again with no one inside.

Just about every fighter they show off looks like a Jabroni reject from Smackdown Vs Raw 2011. Piss-poor rip-offs from other pop cultural icons and stereotypical characters seem to make their ubiquitous appearance in this last-gen looking fighting game. "moss vikings"

With those two words, Bill Simmons unknowingly (or knowingly -- we'll get to that) started a rumor saying disgruntled New England Patriots receiver Randy Moss(notes) was close to being traded to the Minnesota Vikings. The columnist quickly backtracked though, explaining that the two-word Tweet was intended as a direct message to one person and wasn't supposed to go out to his 1.2 million followers.

"Sorry that last tweet was supposed to be a DM. Rumors swirling about a Pats-Minny trade for Randy Moss."

Research into graphene wins Nobel Prize 2010

The 2010 Nobel prize for physics was awarded Tuesday to two professors from the University of Manchester in England for "groundbreaking" experiments with the two-dimensional material graphene.

The professors are Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, both originally from Russia.

Graphene is one of a class of two-dimensional materials discovered by Geim's research group at the university, according to Graphene Industries, which says it has worked closely with Geim. It consists of a hexagonal array of carbon atoms, just like those found in bulk graphite, but is "fundamentally different" from the familiar three-dimensional material, in part because it is flexible.

"The discovery of two-dimensional materials means that scientists now have access to materials of all dimensionalities, including zero-dimensional (quantum dots, atoms) and one-dimensional (nanowires, carbon nanotubes)," according to Graphene Industries.

Geim said it is impossible to describe the range of possible uses for the material.

"Imagine 100 years ago and someone found amazing properties of polymers, and at that moment, you don't know what to do with polymers -- you can only imagine the range of applications," Geim said.

"I hope that graphene and other two-dimensional crystals will change everyday life as plastics did for humanity."

Devin Hester, Jay Cutler, Julius Peppers lift Bears past Packers in thriller

Jay Cutler threw for 221 yards, Brian Urlacher forced a key fumble and Chicago took advantage of a team-record-tying 17 penalties by the Packers to beat Green Bay, 20-17, on Monday night.

Earlier, All-Pro returner Devin Hester took a punt 62 yards for a touchdown to start the fourth quarter, giving the Bears their first lead of the game

The Bears could have tied the game at 10 by kicking what amounted to an extra point and kept the momentum they had just regained. Soldier Field already had come alive midway through the third quarter thanks to the way Julius Peppers gave the Bears offense a chance and the stadium hope.

By now everybody knows Julius Peppers as the Bears' $91 million man. That's a small fortune.

BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Launched by RIM | What's the Price?

Research In Motion (RIMM) unveiled a tablet computer on Monday that will compete with Apple’s (AAPL) iPad. The 7-inch camera-packing tablet called the BlackBerry PlayBook, is designed, according to RIM, to give users uncompromised web browsing, true multitasking and high performance multimedia. The new device will become commercially available in the U.S. in early 2011, and in overseas markets in the second quarter of next year.

CEO Mike Lazaridis showed off the new computer tablet during the keynote of RIM’s BlackBerry developer conference in San Francisco on Monday, but gave no pricing details.

Analysts think that a price range of $300-$350 would be about right.

Kiss today goodbye
The sweetness and the sorrow
Wish me luck, the same to you
But I can’t regret
What I did for love, what I did for love

Look, my eyes are dry
The gift was ours to borrow
It’s as if we always knew
And I won’t forget what I did for love
What I did for love

Love is never gone
As we travel on
Love’s what we’ll remember

Kiss today goodbye
And point me toward tomorrow
We did what we had to do
Won’t forget, can’t regret
What I did for love
