BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Launched by RIM | What's the Price?

Research In Motion (RIMM) unveiled a tablet computer on Monday that will compete with Apple’s (AAPL) iPad. The 7-inch camera-packing tablet called the BlackBerry PlayBook, is designed, according to RIM, to give users uncompromised web browsing, true multitasking and high performance multimedia. The new device will become commercially available in the U.S. in early 2011, and in overseas markets in the second quarter of next year.

CEO Mike Lazaridis showed off the new computer tablet during the keynote of RIM’s BlackBerry developer conference in San Francisco on Monday, but gave no pricing details.

Analysts think that a price range of $300-$350 would be about right.
