The capsule, which is being tested again with no one inside, faces a twisty ride, according to Rory Carroll and Jonathan Franklin.

On its journey to the surface, the capsule will have to twist up to a dozen times through curves of 28-inch (78cm) diameter.Video inspections showed the shaft's lower walls to be firm, smooth rock, eliminating the need to line them, which would have taken days and risked blockages.

2.31am:(10.31pm Chile)
What's the hold up? Various theories are being put forward. Sasa Petricic a journalist with CBC TV tweets that there's a "minor problem" with the winch.

El Pais says the door of the capsule has been damaged.

2.16am:(10.16pm Chile)
The engineers have got the socket set out to make more adjustments to the capsule. A rescue worker was supposed to go down in the next test run. But it lowered again with no one inside.

Meanwhile, there's talk of the first miner being rescued within the next hour.

Happy Campaign Trails Kristi Noem in South Dakota

Kristi Noem has raised $1.1 million over the past three months, about twice as much as her opponent, Rep. Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin (D-SD). And that money will go a long way: South Dakota's media market is one of the least expensive in the country.

The DCCC has already abandoned Herseth-Sandlin--I guess they knew the headwinds she was facing.

The ABC reporter interviews rancher Kristi Noem on horseback.

Jabroni: Fighters Uncaged: Illegal Fighter Roster Unveiled

Just about every fighter they show off looks like a Jabroni reject from Smackdown Vs Raw 2011. Piss-poor rip-offs from other pop cultural icons and stereotypical characters seem to make their ubiquitous appearance in this last-gen looking fighting game. The thing that puzzles me is how on earth anyone is going to get any decent fighting done with the sloppy animations, awful reaction timing and Kinect’s already laggy tracking? Oh well.

The ESPN.com columnist quickly backtracked though, explaining that the two-word Tweet was intended as a direct message to one person and wasn't supposed to go out to his 1.2 million followers.

Research into graphene wins Nobel Prize 2010

The 2010 Nobel prize for physics was awarded Tuesday to two professors from the University of Manchester in England for "groundbreaking" experiments with the two-dimensional material graphene.

The professors are Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov, both originally from Russia.

Graphene is one of a class of two-dimensional materials discovered by Geim's research group at the university, according to Graphene Industries, which says it has worked closely with Geim. It consists of a hexagonal array of carbon atoms, just like those found in bulk graphite, but is "fundamentally different" from the familiar three-dimensional material, in part because it is flexible.

"The discovery of two-dimensional materials means that scientists now have access to materials of all dimensionalities, including zero-dimensional (quantum dots, atoms) and one-dimensional (nanowires, carbon nanotubes)," according to Graphene Industries.

Geim said it is impossible to describe the range of possible uses for the material.

"Imagine 100 years ago and someone found amazing properties of polymers, and at that moment, you don't know what to do with polymers -- you can only imagine the range of applications," Geim said.

"I hope that graphene and other two-dimensional crystals will change everyday life as plastics did for humanity."

Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer: New Look at Even Scarier Movie

The new trailer of Paranormal Activity 2 shows way more then any of the other ones released so far. The first couple of trailers where just dogs barking and a pillow flying at the camera, however this trailer show a lot more and really gives you an eerie feeling. It shows a baby doing something that no baby would be able to do as well as actually showing a door close all by itself. This film can be put up to interpretation because a lot of the things seen in this trailer could be done and then edited to make it look like a haunting but there is one thing that will always be true, this film will scare you no matter how logically you look at it.
