NFL sports analyst and former coach Jimmy Johnson will compete in this season's Nicaraguan version of the hit TV show, "Survivor."

A fan of the "Survivor" franchise, Jimmy applied to be a cast member three years ago. After being denied because of two blocked arteries, the former Dallas Cowboys coach had heart surgery, dropped 30 pounds, and lowered his cholesterol level. Jimmy's health improvements didn't go unnoticed -- the network decided to give Jimmy a chance!

Michael Grimm Won; Fifth Season of America's Got Talent 2010 Winner

It was the night for winner's and America's Got Talent four finalists; Prince Poppycock, Michael Grimm, Jackie Evancho, and Fighting Gravity, performed amazing duets with established music stars. The finale was a live show on a Hollywood stage. Mississippi singer Michael Grimm won $1 million and the chance to headline a show in Vegas.

Michael Grimm, the soulful gentle man finalist from Mississippi, joined in with one of his favorite idols, Jewel, and sang a wonderful rich rendition of, "Bobby McGee," accompanied by his guitar.

IE9 beta: The Coming of Internet Explorer 9

Microsoft is pulling out all the stops to mark the launch of the open beta for Internet Explorer 9, a web browser the company promises will “beautify the web.”

The IE9 beta launches today here at the Design Concourse Center in San Francisco with a major gala that includes hundreds of developers, journalists and Microsoft employees, as well as a live band playing on pedestals in the lobby.

“The browser is a stage. It is the backdrop of the web,” said Corporate Vice President of Internet Explorer Dean Hachamovitch.

The Facebookification of Twitter

Twitter is about to become a major multimedia destination, thanks to some new partners and features.

Earlier today, we reported that Twitter is bringing multimedia to the stream. If you tweet a link to a video, for example, it will be embedded and play right in the Twitter stream. Twitter has “multiple partners” for today’s launch, including web video, live-streaming video, and video platform partners.

Bringing pictures and videos to the stream is one of the biggest changes Twitter has ever made. Instead of going off-site to watch your favorite YouTube video or livestream, you can stay on Twitter.com and browse multimedia all day long.

In other words, today’s changes will make Twitter feel more like Facebook.

Southern California Edison brings two boiler towers down

Southern California Edison brought the two towers down at 7 a.m. during a controlled demolition at Mountainview Generating Station. Charges were placed around each structure designed to blast inward, said Steve Conroy, spokesman for Southern California Edison.

Two decommissioned boiler towers fell to the ground Wednesday morning after booming explosions were heard for miles in all directions.
