Jasmine Alkhaldi of Philippines ends Olympic stint on bright note

In Women's 100-meter Freestyle swimming, Jasmine Alkhaldi of the Philippines lost to stronger opponents as she clocked only 57.13 seconds which is good for rank 34 out of 48.

In Southeast Asian countries, he came in second to the Singaporean swimmer Mylene Ong who finished the race in 56.33 seconds which is good for a tie for 29th place.

Philippines' Barriga wins in Boxing Round of 32

The only boxer entry of the Philippines in the London Olympics 2012, Mark Anthony Barriga, barged into the Round of 16 as he defeated Manuel Cappai of Italy via a 17-7 score after three rounds of boxing.

Barriga is entered in the Men's Light Flyweight Boxing, 49 Kg.

He is set to face Birzhan Zhakypov of Khazakhstan on August 4, 2012, Saturday in Round of 16 wherein the winner here will go against the winner between the boxers from China and Cuba.

Paul Brian Rosario of Philippines loses in Shooting

In Men's Skeet Shooting competition, Paul Brian Rosario had a decent start but faltered in the end at the Royal Artillery barracks as his performance was only good for 30th place with 110 points after five rounds in the ongoing London Olympics 2012.
