Dogecoin trading coming to Coinbase Thursday

Dogecoin, the joke cryptocurrency that surged to record highs in May, will begin trading on Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, on Thursday. The company also said its Coinbase Card will begin working with Apple Pay and Google Pay this week for select members, which will allow cardholders to use their crypto to pay for purchases via the payment services.

Starting Tuesday, Coinbase Pro members can begin adding Dogecoin to their accounts in preparation for when trading starts on Thursday at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT, according to a company blog post. Coinbase says there must be a sufficient amount of Dogecoin available for trades, and that it may halt trading if it "does not meet our assessment for a healthy and orderly market."

Shooting reported at LA County fire station, suspect at large: Sheriff

A gunman is at large after at least one person was shot at a fire station in Southern California on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The gunfire was reported at 10:53 a.m. local time at Los Angeles County Fire Station 81 in Agua Dulce, according to the sheriff's department.

Law enforcement is searching for the suspected shooter. There's also a fire at a home reportedly belonging to the suspect, the sheriff's department said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it is holding all units from responding to fight the blaze because the current location of the suspect is unknown, and they won't fight the fire until the house is deemed safe.

The components of population change have not been adjusted and so inconsistencies will exist between population values derived directly from the components and the population displayed in the odometer and the Select a Date tool.
