Wendy's Brings Back Pretzel Bun

Wendy’s on Tuesday debuted its latest burger, a Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger that is designed to replicate burgers served in a gastropub.

The burger features a quarter pound of beef topped with Muenster cheese, three strips of bacon, honey mustard, warm beer cheese sauce, crispy fried onions and pickles on a soft pretzel bun.

“We’ve been watching and listening as customers have been craving for us to bring pretzel back,” Chief Marketing Officer Carl Laredo said in a statement. “We married the fervor of our former pretzel bun with the increased love for gastropub-inspired flavors and created a cheeseburger that is, in a word, unforgettable.”

Fast-food chains have picked up the pace of menu innovation in recent weeks as sales have largely recovered and competitiveness between the different concepts has intensified. Both Domino’s and Papa John’s have introduced new items recently, as has Wendy’s rival McDonald’s when it announced the pending introduction of Spicy Chicken McNuggets.

Wendy’s has been targeting both budget customers with its 4-$4 value offer, as well as premium diners with its “Made to Crave” line of higher-end burgers. The Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger will go on the Made to Crave line.

Zoom stock has surged nearly 400% — is it time to buy, hold or run away?

Wall Street has gone gaga for Zoom Video Communications (ZM) after its latest revenue report, to say the very least. And all indications point to the Street staying united in that optimism, despite an eye-popping price-to-earnings multiple of 232 times forward earnings.

Analysts hopped onto Zoom’s second quarter earnings call Monday night and congratulated execs for developing an essential communication tool to be used during a pandemic. JMP Securities analyst Pat Walravens pointed out to Yahoo Finance’s The First Trade his school age daughter got on the call and explained to founder Eric Yuan why Zoom is better than Google’s Hangout video conference offering.

Count Walravens as among nearly 50% of primary Zoom analysts (this group has Buy ratings on Zoom’s stock) on the Street that remain super bullish on the company’s prospects and stock.

“I have been doing this for 20 years, and I have never seen a story like this one. And it shows you the power of a really well-run company with a good mission that has exactly the service everyone needs in a crisis,” Walravens said.
